Part #3011 is a replacement hinge strap for our Bosski sled ramps (4 hinge straps per sled ramp).
It's important to note these hinge straps should NOT be breaking; this is a sign that something isn't working correctly. Notice that the hinge strap is not bearing any weight during the load/unload process; they are designed to keep the ski ramps sections attached to the center section of the ramp.
Please read all points listed below before purchasing:
1 – if hinge straps are breaking that’s a sign that something is not working, not set up correctly or your ski/keel/carbide is not compatible with the ramp (it is also possible that there was a cold weld)
2 – other reasons why a hinge strap breaks: a) Uneven loading surface. b) Rear of ski goes under the front lip of ski ramp (either due to shock/truck movement, profile of rear of ski or not attaching ski ramp strap properly). c) Not using all 3 straps; customers with broken hinges have told us they only used the center strap
3 – In the event your hinge strap breaks, know that we've designed the hinge strap to be the first breaking point. If the hinge strap breaks first, then 2 of the 3 points of attachment to the tailgate/trailer stay connected. It's better for a hinge strap to break and have one ski ramp come off the edge versus the entire ramp, you and your sled falling.
4 – safety is the most important aspect to us; long-term what we’re doing is making the most dangerous part of your ride as safe as possible
If you have any further questions or uncertainties, please call us and a representative will speak with you about your concerns. Very aggressive ski/keel/carbide combinations are not recommended with this ramp. If you've purchased it, tried it and don't feel safe, ship it back to us and we'll give you a refund. Safety is our paramount concern (obviously, this needs to be after the first use or two).
We are interested in keeping our customers safe, season after season. Thx, Bosski!
